Our summer holiday club Splash was a lot of fun for families and helpers alike. Over 20 children and their families came in the morning with some coming back after lunch and others joining in for the afternoon. The day was beach themed and there were some great activities on offer. We had a real sandpit, hook a duck, crazy golf (a great course made by Elaine), and loads of crafts including kite and windmill making, building and decorating boats (and sailing them), crafting foam ice lollies and seagulls, decorating visors, sunglasses and beach bags, and creating beach scenes with stickers and very messy paint.
Eddie and Reggie were on hand to point us towards the stories of Jesus in their own inimitable fashion. In the morning Elaine told how Jesus had calmed a storm and walked on water, whilst in the afternoon, she talked about Jesus after his resurrection with the miraculous catch of fish and reinstating Peter around a fish BBQ. Paul led everyone in a rousing rendition of ‘With Jesus in the boat’, reminding everyone that Jesus can be with us in the storms of life. This was followed by a very competitive games of volleyball.
Many thanks to all who helped make this such an enjoyable day.
